Study of determination to reduce cutting limit diameter at limited production forest in Irian Jaya

Research had been conducted in three forest concessions located in head of bird, Northern and Southern part of Irian Jaya. The objective of this research is to determine cutting limit diameter allowed in exploitation of limited production forest area. Continuous strip sampling method is used in data collection. Data was analyzed by tabulation. Research result showed that limited forest production area under concessions located in Northern and Southern part of Irian Jaya could be allowed to reduce the minimum cutting limit diameter from 60 cm to 50 cm. While limited forest production area under forest concessions in surrounding forest area of Sorong and Timika could not be consider to reduce its mimimum cutting limit diameter
