Analysis of agro-ecological zones (AEZ) in West Kalimantan refers to Expert System. The main concept of this method is to match between agro-climate characteristic or land resources and requirement of plants or group of plant growth. This analysis was implemented into three steps: preparation, data interpretation using expert system, and field verification. Overlay between AEZ, sub district boundaries and present land use maps can be used to determine appropriateness of land for developing agricultural commodities and agricultural technology assessment. Analysis results showed that available areas that are bio-physically suitable for developing rice, intensive rice cultivation, and dry land rice in Sambas District are 121.157 hectares, 52.832 hectares, and 190.615 hectares, respectively. Total dry land of 190.615 hectares is not only appropriate for developing dry land rice but also corn and soybean. In Pontianak District, the area that are bio-physically suitable for developing intensive rice cultivation, rice extensification and rehabilitation, and dry land rice cultivation are 103.306, 7.974 and 58.075 hectares, respectively. Total dry land of 58.075 hectares is not only appropriate for developing dry land rice but also corn and soybean. Finally, total area in Ketapang District that are bio-physically suitable for developing intensive and dry land rice cultivation are 51.789 and 329.969 hectares, respectively. Also, total dry land of 329.969 hectares is not only appropriate for developing dry land rice but also corn and soybean
