Effect of returning plant stover on crop production and soil moisture during three years applications in cropping pattern

إنجليزي. A field experiment has been carried out on upland soil of Batumarta, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) district, South Sumatra Province in 1994-1997. The aim of experiment is to know the effect of returning plant stover on crop production and soil moisture. Two system of crop rotation was applied in this experiment. Soil moisture was measured by Neutron Probe and rainfall data was noted. Plant stover was returned to the experiment area. Result of this experiment showed that returning of plant stover was able to increase crop production, especially in the 3rd year where the soil moisture and rainfall distribution were relative low. In the 3rd year experiment the yield increase 27.2 percent, 84.7 percent, and 28.7 percent each for cowpea, upland rice and soybean/corn
اظهر المزيد [+] اقل [-]الأندونيسية. Telah dilakukan percobaan lapang di lahan kering Batumarta Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), Propinsi Sumatera Selatan pada tahun 1994-1997. Percobaan dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengembalian sisa panen terhadap produksi tanaman dan kelembaban tanah. Dua sistem pola pergiliran tanaman diaplikasikan dalam percobaan ini. Kelembaban tanah diukur dengan Neutron Probe dan curah hujan dicatat. Sisa panen dikembalikan ke dalam percobaan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pengembalian sisa panen dapat menaikkan produksi, terutama pada tahun ke tiga bersamaan dengan adanya distribusi curah hujan dan kelembaban tanah yang relatif rendah. Kenaikan produksi biji pada tahun ketiga adalah 27,2 persen, 84,7 persen, dan 28,7 persen berturut-turut untuk kacang tunggak, padi gogo dan kedelai/jagung
