[Regulation of apple nutrition and determination of fruit quality parameters]

The trials at the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture showed that the content of nutrients K, Ca, Mg and their intercourse (K+Mg)/Ca in apple leaves and K, Ca and K/Ca ration in fruits depended on meteorological conditions. It was established thataccording to plant's uptake of nutrients, years can be regarded as "calcium years" (1993 and 1995) and "potassium years" (1994 and 1996). It was established that calcium fertilizers reduced (K+Mg)/Ca ratio in apple leaves and K/Ca ratio in fruits. According to (K+Mg).Ca ratio in apple leaves it is possible to forecast qualitative parameters of fruits.
