Connection of increased eggs yolk pigmentation with layers' productivity and metabolism

To meet the market requirements as to the egg yolk pigmentation some pigmentpreparations are added to the mixed feed for layers. The aim of the given trial was to estimate the influence of pigmentpreparation ORO GLO**TM Layer Dry (Belgium) on the productivity, metabolism processes, quality of eggs and egg yolk pigmentation intensity of cross Lohmann Brown layers. The pigmentpreparation was added to the ingredients of the basic local feed. The investigation results showed that the mentioned preparation increased egg yolk pigmentation intensity. However its influence on the layers' productivity and egg quality indices was insignificant. The preparation was found to be suitable for basic local feed and was recommended as an additive in the mixed feed for layers.
