The article deals with comparison of the influence of four various mineral nitrogen fertilizers - ammonium nitrate, calcium-ammonium nitrate, hydro sulfan and calcium nitrate using on the yield and quality of spring wheat "Dragon" in 1999. Previous mentioned mineral nitrogen ferlizers were applied as a first additional fertilizer (90 kg N ha E-1). All of the compared mineral nitrogen fertilizers increased protein content of crop grain more than 15.5%, Zeleny index - 48%, and gluten content - 29.5%. Each kilogram of the mineral nitrogen fertilizers increased the yield of spring wheat only by 6.3-9.8 kg. Deficiency of precipitation and high air temperature during period of vegetation contributed formation of small grains (23-24 g of 1000 kernel weight), and gave low yields. Obviously, that using of nitrogen fertilizers hydro sulfan and calcium nitrate were unprofitable.
