Considering peculiarities of the Latvian Republic and EEC regulations, qualitative demands for the cattle concentrated mixed feed have been worked out. In Latvia the nutritive value of concentrated mixed feed is expressed in metalolizable energy, oat feed units, crude protein, digestible protein, crude fiber, lipids and sugar content. The nutritive value is also characterised by the content of amino acids (L-lysine, DL-methionine, triptophane), macrominerals, microminerals and biologically active compounds. The quality of concentrated mixed feed is characterized by its appeareance, color, odor, moisture, dosage of components and size of grinding, pelets and granules, amount of undesirable admixture, pesticide leavings and grain pest amount. Composing a concentrated mixed feed recipe for cattle, it has to be considered that at least four components should be enclosed.
