Water's bacteriological characteristics of Rezekne's water main

The given research deals with the investigation of water quality in the town of Rezekne. The legislation concerning the environment in the towns of Latvia stimulates ground-water monitoring in the vicinity of abandoned and operating waste disposal sites. The investigation of Rezekne's ground-water shows that its condition is good. The aim of the given research was to determine the quality of pipeline water in Rezekne, to establish the presence and number of microorganisms in it as well as the changes of its colour and smell. The investigation results show that in the last few years the number of microorganisms in the smell of water have decreased.
