The effects of MPs on the production performance of pigs fed-corn-soy-rice bran-based diets, a feed supplement necessary for the ready absorption of phosphrous by the animals. Thirty weanling pigs were randomly distributed to five dietary treatments with six replications per treatment. Perforamance of pigs receiving 50 percent less monodicalcium phosphate (MDCP) with MP was comparable to those receiving 100 percent MDCP alone, in terms of average daily gain. The addition of MP allows the reduction of MDCP to 50 percent without affecting feed efficiency. The decreasing levels of MDCP and the addition of MP in the diet failed to increase bone calcium content and bone hardness. Bone phosphorus content decreased (P less than .05) with decreasing amount of MDCP supplementation. Phosphorus excretion decreased (P less than 0.05) with decreasing MDCP supplementation in the diets. AT 50 percent less MDCP addition in the diet, a savings of P1.05 per kg gain in weight of pigs could be obtained compared to pigs receiving 100 percent MDCP alone
