The improved rapid test kit is a 3-m-1 kit that can detect three types of pesticide compounds: organophosphates, carbamates, and pyrethroids. It uses four types of solutions (Solution 1 and 2 for detecting organophosphates; Solution 3 and 4 for detecting carbamates) and an ultraviolet (UV) flashlight for detecting pyrethroids. The improved kit gave a higher level of reliability of results because it used 5-g subsample (replicated three times) from a 1-kg sample, instead of 1-g sample used in the kit previously developed. The improved kit can also finish the analysis in 5 to 30 minutes/sample, or a maximum of one hour to complete the analysis for the three types of compounds. It can likewise detect as low as 0.5 ug of pesticide residues/sample, which is the maximum residue limit allowed for most pesticides in agricultural produce. The improved 3-in-1 rapid test kit has a reduced price of P4,000 compared with the individual kits for organophosphates, carbamates, and pyrethroids with a total price of P4,450. The reduced price was attributed to the reduced number of materials used, such as glass slides, dropper, vials, color chart, and treated filter papers
