This is a case study of the mangrove brackish water zone of Ivisan Bay located on the northern coast of Panay Island [Philippines]. This ecozone has undergone a series of major changes starting in the 1980s. The aim of this study is to describe the changes as observed and experienced by the manughudhod (push-net fishermen). Hudhod, the local term for a push net, is a traditional form of subsistence fishing and remains very much in use today. This study discusses the various strategies that push-net fishermen have taken in the context of present day circumstances
