Method was developed for direct shoot regeneration in Lycopersicon esculentum Mill using stem and leaf explants through tissue culture techniques. Different media composition of BAP and IAA were used to accelerate optimal shoot production in tomato varieties, Roma and Lima. The present studies carried out for shoot regeneration produced 3.137 and 2.353 mean number of shoots/explant for stem and leaf explant in Roma. On the other hand Lima responded with 2.187 and 1.783 mean number of shoots/explant respectively. Media composition BAP 5.0 mg/l + IAA 0.5 mg/l + Salts and Vitamins was the best combination for both the varieties.
