Micro- and macroelements in popular spices

Fifteen herbs, used as spices were tested for their content of some macro- and microelements (copper, zinc, iron, manganese, magnesium, calcium, strontium, potassium and sodium). Large amounts of copper, zinc, iron and manganese were found in the herbs of Summer Savory and Stinging Nettle, and in the leaves of Sweet Basil and of Tarragon. Of the macroelements, particularly high leves of magnesium, calcium and potassium contained: Stinging Nettle leaves and herb, Sweet Basil leaves, leaves and herb of Common Bahu and Garden Thyme herb
