Changes in total and available selenium contents in soil affected by long-term organic fertilisation

التايلاندية. The soil sampled had been treated with farmyard manure and slurry at 20, 40, 60 and 80 t/ha. The contents of the total and DTPA-extractable selenium were determined with the fluorometric method. The application of FYM and slurry increased the organic carbon content, as compared with the control. The total selenium content in the control ranged from 0.021 to 0.049 mg/kg. The application of FYM and slurry almost doubled the total selenium content, as compared with the control. The share of DTPA-extractable forms of selenium in the total selenium content in the soils treated with FYM and slurry ranged from 1.98 to 3.5 percent, witch indicated its slow mobility and availability
