The effect of high doses of aluminium on production of biomass, Al, K, Ca and P accumulation in leaves, stems and roots was studied in pot experiments, as well as gas exchange of plants feed with basic and incerased potassium dose. The results showed that increased potassium dose reduced aluminium toxicity for plants, which was expressed by higher stomatal conductance and photosynthesis as well as greater yield of dry mass af all part of plants. It was caused by less accumulation of Al, first of all in roots but in tops, too. Higher dose of potassium also increased K and P content, while decreasing Ca content in all organs of plants. The article discusses a possible mechanims of potassium activity in presence of aluminium ions in medium.
