Defining high-yielding model plants for spring cereals

The aim of the pot experiment run in 1994-95 was to determine high-yielding plant models for spring cereals: wheat, triticale, two- and six-row barley and oats. Wheat ear productivity was found to be the highest in 1-shoot plants due to a greather number of grains per ear as well as higher weight of a single kernel. The highest harvest index was characteristic for 1-shoot wheat, triticale and six-row barley plants. In case of two-row barley and oats it reached a maximum for control plants
