Fertility of common arable weed species on rendzina soil

In the years 1992, 93 and 97 - which were significantly varied as to the meteorological conditions of the vegetation season - the number of diaspors (fruits and seeds) produced by an individual belonging to common species of weeds appearing in the crop of various plants planted on rendzina was counted. It was established that Plantago major was the most fertile (on the average over 12000 diaspors), the least (below 100 seeds) - were Agropyron repens, Avena fatua, Viccia cracca and Vicia hirsuta
