Carvalho, M. | Pereira, A.M.N. (Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro Univ., Vila Real (Portugal))
Grapevine viruses are of economic importance due to possible reduction in quality parameters and/or yield, as well as reduction in longevity of the plants. At the moment, the list of grapevine viruses includes 44 species, some of wide distribution, others with very limited localisation. GLRaV-3 is widely spread in Portugal, like in other Mediterranean countries as showed from our work in the National Program for Grapevine Selection. We present here the results of serological tests (DAS-ELISA) for GLRaV-3 on several grapevine varieties included in this Program. One Portuguese isolate of GLRaV-3 was purified, characterisation of the virion and of the coat protein was done and polyclonal antiserum was produced to be specifically used in the Selection Program
