[New data behaviour of some maize lines and hybrids to the attack by the european corn borer Ostrinia Nubilalis HB. at SCA Podu-Iloaiei]

During 1994-1997 at S.C.A. Podu-Iloaiei, the studies regarding tests of resistance and tolerance in own maize lines and hybrids to the attack by Ostrlnia nubilalis Hb. continued, under 14-18 years of monoculture which provided evolution of a population and heavy attack by this pest. Out of 1551 total lines under study 277 have been not attacked (resistant), while 588 showed a lower attack (tolerant), all these summing up 55.7 percent. The hybrids under test also exhibited high degree of resistance and tolerance: of 633 a number of 8 hybrids (1.3 percent) were resistant and 228 (36 percent) tolerant, the hybrids registered: Pl-110, Bucium, Simona, Oana, Roxana and Dana being remarked.
