This paper presents a series of data referring to ongoing European Corn Borer rearing on artificial diet for several successive generations. In the colonies established in 1979 and 1992 the experiment was running until the end of 1995.While in colonies from 1985 and 1990 the trial was cut down at the end of 1993.Nutritive value of diet was ascertained by recording for every generation, distinctly by colonies, the number of pupae/rearing box, duration of development (days) of larval and pupal stages, as well as the number of egg - batches laid by one female. The results obtained have shown:- O. nubilalis reared on artificial diet up to the end of 1995 during 210 generations for the colony from 1979, and 48 generations in the colony from 1992.- The number of pupae/rearing box, duration of development (days) of larvae and pupae, as well as numbers of egg-batches/female have been not influenced by the number of generation to which the insect on artificial diet in steady flow belonged.- Variations recorded in all colonies between the values of parameters analysed have been caused, to a certain extent, by the experimental conditions.
