The effect of genetic and non-genetic factors on real milk production - RMP - and on standardized milk production - SMP (standard lenght of milking period - 150 days) was analysed in ewes of Improved Valachian (IV) and Tsigai (T) breeds. We used the milk recording data of sheep in SR which are precessed in the computer centre of the State Breeding Institute in Zilina. The primary data about IV (n=4021) and T (n=1247) ewes were treated and processed by mathematical and statistical programme package SAS, version 6.1, for each breed separately. The genetic and non-genetic factors were taken into consideration and we determined RMP in IV ewes 80.8 l and SMP 84.5 l, in T ewes 73.4 l and 79.9 l, respectively. We used the method of least squares (SAS - GLM method) and we found out that in IV breed are RMP and SMP influenced mostly by factor of herd (P0.001), lactation order (P0.01), month of parturition (P0.001 or 0.01), father of ewes (P0.001 or 0.01) and the number of sucking lambs (P0.05) as well. RMP and SMP were influenced significantly also by the interval between parturuition and 1st control measurement of milk, and the lenght of milking period (P0.001). The factors herd and lactation order of ewes influenced the studied parameters very significantly (P0.001) in T breed, too. However, as opposed to IV breed there was found nonsignificant effect of number of sucking lambs, and highly significant effect of the check year (P0.001). The effect of fathers within the herd was lower (ns. or P0.05), and the effect of interval and lenght of milking period were nonsignificant as well
