PCP retention experiments on soils and humic acids
1999
Barancikova, G. | Szaboova, J. (Soil Science and Conservation Research Institute, Bratislava (Slovak Republic))
In laboratory conditions the retention experiments of pentachlorophenol on five soil types and two humic acids were determined. The different sorption capacity of tested soil types was confirmed by results of these examinations. No relationship between PCP sorption and basic soil parameters (pH, Corg, clay content) was found. On the basis receiving data, it can by assumed that PCP sorption is influenced mainly by qualitative parameters of soil organic matter. The PCP sorption on HA was approximately 10 x higher in comparison to soil samples. The sorption extent was influenced by chemical structure, predominantly degree of aromaticity of HA. The effect of soil organic matter quality in interaction with PCP on desorption experiments was also shown
