In the field trial conducted in 1998 on medium heavy luvisol in warm and temperate arid maize-growing region, the effect of varieties (Fox, Zenith) and fertilization: V1 - NPK (100% N - control), V2 - NPK (50% N) + Avit 35, V3 - NPK (100% N) + Avit 35, V4 - NPK (50% N) + Humix univerzal, V5 - NPK (100% N) + Humix univerzal on the digestion, refined sugar, K + Na (as alkali contributors) and amino N of sugar beet was studied. The NPK rate was calculated on the basis of agrochemical analyses of soil as affected the root yield 50 t per hectare. Avit 35 and Humix univerzal are liquid fertilizers made on the base of bioactive components. The treatment of sugar beet was done in the stage of 9th - 11th leaves. The better results in all observed parameters had cultivar Zenith. The foliar application of both liquid bioactive fertilizers Avit 35 and Humix univerzal positively affected the content of K+ and Na+ (as alcali contributors) comparing to control variant (V1). Liquid fertilizer Avit 35 positively affected all above mentioned quality paratneters of sugar beet bulbs
