The competitiveness of Slovak agro-food products on CEFTA countries markets

Within the frame work on CEFTA countries, the Slovak Republic together with Slovenia belongs between countries with the smallest market space. In the year 1998 we exported 60% and imported 42.1% of our agro-food goods to or from CEFTA countries. Czech Republic is still our biggest trade partner from CEFTA country. From the valuation of competitiveness development of the whole agro-goods trade on the base of RCA index for the year 1998 implies that we reached comparative advantages with all CEFTA countries except Hungary. From the farm-gate prices level point of view the Slovak Republic had the cheapest bean, pea, rape and eggs comparing to the other countries in the year 1998
