The optimalization of breeding conditions in cattle breeding

High production, mail goal in cattle breeding depends on many factors. Tha main role is in breeding conditions, environment where cows live and produce. Aim of this paper was investigate behavioural abnormalities as one of best indicators of quality of breeding conditions in cattle at 17 farms in Slovakia. We have recorded next behavioural abnormalities: milk sucking, tongue playing, calf rejecting, kicking during milking, aggresion toward man, chain chewing, nose pressing, head beating and dog sitting in dairies and heifers; mutual sucking, sucking of parts of stall equipment, mutual licking, licking of parts of stall equipment, self licking, sham ruminating, chewing other objects and tongue playing in calves. The widest spread behavioural abnormalities are milk sucking and tongue playing in dairies and heifers and undesirable oral activities in calves
