Effect of seed treatment on sorghum foundation seed storability was conducted at seed laboratory at Suphan Buri FCRC in 1994. The experimental design was 3*12 factorial in CRD with 4 replicates. The main plots were 3 seed treatments; 1) treated seed with pirimiphos methyl (Actellic) 20 CC/20 litres of water 2) lime 2 kg/100 kg seed and 3) untreated seed (control). The sub plots were storage time at 1, 2, 3, ... 12 months after stored seed at room temperature. The initial quality (standard germination, seed moisture content and vigor test-AA test) of 3 treatments were not different except. Actellic treatment which had SMC 1 percent higher than others. This brought about the shorter seed storability (Harrington's rules)*. Lime treated seed could not prolong seed storability. [Harrington's rules-for seed between 5-14 percent MC, the length of time in storage before seed viability declines is doubled for every 1 percent reduction in SMC)
