1996 fertilizer trial on grain yield of corn in paddy field compared 2 rates of 16-20-0 and one rate of 21-0-0 as basal fertilizer, the effect of top-dressing with 21-0-0 on the grain yield of corn was also compared. The 2 rates of 16-20-0 as basal fertilizer were 188 kg and 375 kg, and the rate of 21-0-0 was 188 kg/ha. The top-dressing fertilizer was also 21-0-0 at the rate of 188 kg/ha. The result of the trial from two locations revealed that grain yield of corn responded markedly to increment of fertilizer application. The combination between 16-20-0 as basal fertilizer at the rate of 375 kg/ha and 21-0-0 as basal fertilizer as top-dressing at the rate of 188 kg/ha led to the highest yield of 5,310 kg/ha, i.e., 63 percent higher than that of the treatment with no fertilizer application (3,254 kg/ha).
