Pollution loading of effluent from intensive shrimp (Peneaus monodon) culture ponds were studied Shrimp lavae (p 17) were stocked in 5 ponds, with an area of 3,200 square m/pond, at various densities of 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 ind./square m, respectively. The results showed the lower harvesting group (pond no.1 and 2) had and average production of 590 kg/pond. Pollution load of effluent from this group were 2.8, 0.05, 0.19, 3.0, 10.8, 0.6, 0.3 30.5 and 2.94 kg/pond for a parameter of NH4 -N, NO3 -N, NO2 -N, DIN (dissolved inorga nitrogen), TN(total nitrogen), TP (total phosphorus), chlorophyll a, BOD and SM (settleable matter), respectively. The other group that had an average production of 1667 kg/pond, and the loading were 19.67, 0.20, 0.43, 20.3, 50.2 1.27, 1.1, 86.87 and 1666 kg/pond for those parameters, respectively.
