The lifetime production of milk, butterfat and butterfat percentage, as well as production of calves in different conditions of housing (tied up and loosed) has been investigated. The cows were of Holstein-Friesian breed. By investigation it was found that the average values of lifetime and production part of life were in favour of tied up method of housing. Also, total lifetime milk and butterfat production, as well as the average number of lactations are higher in cows housed under tied up system. However, butterfat content (%) was higher in cows in loose housing system, and the differences of means are statistically very highly significant (P0.001). Average number of calving in the course of life is higher also in loose housed cows, but the differences of the average values are not significant.
