Pomological and technological properties of some new hazelnut cultivars

The paper presents the following pomological and technological properties of newly introduced hazelnut cultivars: fruit mass, kernel percentage, catkin pollen shedding, chemical fruit content, cropping and ripening time. Fruit mass in the cultivars studied, varied from 3.26 g (Barcelona) to 2.53 g (Tombul Yagli). The highest kernel percentage was found in Tombul Yagli (56.55%) and the smalest in the cultivar Barcelona (42.38%). The following cultivars proved to have the highest cropping: Sivri Yagli, Riccia di Talenico, Extra Yagli and Giromelo. Tonda Lange was the earliest to ripen (18 August) in the conditions of Cacak, Serbia (Yugoslavia).
