The goal of the investigation was to compare nutritive value, chemical composition and suitability for ensiling of the four grass hybrids Felina, Hykor, Perun and Becva, and Festuca arundinacea K-20, as well as the influence of the first and second year of utilization, first two cuts and two localities (50 m and 200 m altitude): Belgrade and Krusevac, Serbia (Yugoslavia). Results of examination showed that the quality of examined grasses was very good what is evidenced by a high average content of energy and protein in dry matter (5.46 MJ NEL and 144 g CP). A significant difference in chemical composition and NEL, MJ of grasses in the 1st and 2nd year, the 1st and 2nd cut and between locations was found. Suitability of green mass for ensiling was better in the 2nd year and in the 1st cut, what is shown in almost all parameters. Differences in all examined parameters between hybrids were smaller and insignificant.
