Effects of some agrotechnical practices on pop-corn yield
1999
Jovanovic, Z. (Institut za kukuruz "Zemun Polje", Beograd - Zemun (Yugoslavia))
The effects of fertilizers (control (0), 180 kg NPK/ha, 360 kg NPK/ha), hybrids (ZPTC 610k, ZPSC 611k, ZPTC 615k) and planting densities (39.680 plants/ha, 49.258 plants/ha, 59.520 plants/ha) on pop-corn yields were studied. The aim of this study was to determine the response of different hybrids, grown on slightly calcareous chernozem, to fertilizing and planting density under agroecological conditions of Zemun Polje (Serbia, Yugoslavia). Pop-corn grain yields depended of the precipitation amounts and distribution during the growing season. The highest yields were achieved in the most favourable year, in 1995. It was found out that the application of lower mineral fertilizers rates (180 kg NPK/ha) was more reasonable. The averagely highest yields (4,22 t/ha) were obtained in the hybrid ZPTC 610k, while the most favourable planting density ranged from 40,000 to 50,000 plants/ha. The interaction of studied factors was not statistically significant.
