[Possibility of increasing energetic value of the diet for high yielding dairy cows by addition of fat]

The trial was designed, to evaluate the efficiency of usage of technical cattle talow applied as an additive to the diet for high yielding dairy cows in early lactation. The possibility to increase energetic value of the diet by adding 6%, 8% and 10% of technical fat in the dry matter of diet. The goal of the experiment was to establish which level of fat supplement can mostly fulfill the lack of energy in the diet. Upon the result obtained, it may be concluded that technical cattle tallow can be successfully used for high yielding dairy cows in early lactating without significant influence on digestibility, consumption and conversion of the feed, health and reproduction. At the same time on the all treatments has given some effects, but the best results were with 6% added fat in dry matter of ration. In this case differences were significant. It was established that addition of fat to diet of dairy cows has significant effect only in high yielding dairy cows at early lactation.
