Clinical efficacy of a new combined antiparasitic drugs abantel-boluses (abamectin + closantel) in small ruminants

The antinematodal, antitrematodal and antimelophagosal activity of the formulation Abantel-boluses ("Biovet" Co. - Peshtera, Bulgaria) in sheep and goats were studied. Each bolus contains 10 mg Abamectin and 250 mg Closantel. The single oral dose of 1 bolus 25 kg b.w.=0,4 mg/kg Abamectin + 10 mg /kg Closantel was examined. It was established that Abantel has full therapeutic efficacy against Cystocaulus and Muellerius spp. was weaker (IE around 45%), and Abantel shows no effect on Paramphistomum spp.
