Morphological peculiarities of flowers and anthesis phase of F1 of blackthorn (P. spinosa) x Topalka* plum (P. domestica) combination

The anthesis and flower morphology of 20 between species hybrids, obtained as a result of crossing of blackthorn (P.spinosa) and Topalaka plum (P. domestica), were studied. The anthesis of the progeny takes place at the end of March, beginning of April. In terms of this index, the hybrids are in intermediate position compared to the parent couple but a considerable number of them have anthesis beginning and end terms beyond maternal and paternal ones.All progeny plant forms flowers with normal generative organs and perianth, characteristic of the Prunus species. The flowers are comparatively big, their average diameter in most of the plants being within 18-22 mm. The flower stalk is 5-13 mm, more than half of the plants exceeding the father parent for this index. The carpophore lengh is within 4-10 mm. In most of the plants, the flowers form 20-23 stamens.
