A new drink "Maltina-iodine" has been developed based on an alcohol-free, biologically enriched drimk. Its iodine content results from introduction of Kl. An ion-selective method for determination of the iodide in the drink is offered, which proved to be fast, accurate and reproducible. The functional addition of Kl to beer has been studied too and a flow injection technique for iodide analysis is suggested. The variation of the physicochemical parameters of the malt soft drink and the beer with the addition of Kl is followed as well. As a result it can be concluded that the malt soft drink and the beer, both containing Kl, are good functional drinks for overcoming the iodine deficit in the human body.
