A new software called SyntQLact is presented in this article. The proposed algorithm determines the so called synthetic quality of raw milk (SQSM) and fix the milk price on the basis of several milk quality (QM) parameters. SQSM is a flexible, dimensionless variable characterized by a normal distribution frequency. The number and the weight of QM parameters used in the calculation of SQSM may vary according to the technological use of the milk. The final SQSM will be fixed after an appropriate transformation and standardization of QM values. This system will better support high quality milk producers and facilitate milk payments.
