In the article we deal with the problems of post-harvest treatment of potatoes on a farm. The soil-separator sorter is the machine of the greatest importance for this purpose. Our farms need simple, universal and cheap sorters that do not cause much damage on tubers. One of the more suitable for farms' use among the others is the roll-type potato-cleaner-sorter. We created a tooth-roll cleaner sorter KSR-5M, in which each following roll rotates faster than the preceding one. The optimum work parameters are: feed 5...8 tons per hour, linear velocity of the beaters of the cleaner 0.41, 0.48 and 0.53 m/s, mean speed of the tooth-sorter-rolls 93 min (-1)
