A low input method of rearing the predatory laelapid mite Stratiolaelaps miles (Berlese) is described. The method utilizes the standard host, Tyrophagus putrescentiae (Schrank) but the rearing medium for both S. miles and T. putrescentiae has been modified to minimise handling. Thirty-five fold increases have been achieved in 21 days
