The effects of leaf nipping for cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum Mill.) were investigated. Appearance of lateral buds were not affected by leaf nipping, which was much the same as leaf putting. Though the leaves had decreased by leaf nipping, they were still over sixty per plant. As the frequency of leaf nipping increased, the number of flowers decreased. Leaf nipping, during with 30% of the leaves were picked twice on July 31 and September 15 produced much the same flower quality as leaf putting. The labor saving obtained by leaf nipping decreases according to the increase of the number of leave. Though leaf nipping was not effective for all of cyclamen, it was effective with a few varieties that come to leaves easily
