The Fusarium disease survey revealed that the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense (E.F. Smith) Synd and Hans (FOC) is present all over the Philippines except in the islands of Camiguin and Samal, Davao. The popular cultivar latundan (Silk) was observed to be the most susceptible followed by Lakatan. The disease has not been reported to be a serious problem on other commercial cultivars. While general observation indicate that the members of the Cavendish subgroup, the Amas (Sucrier), Cardaba and Saba are tolerant, a few samples of the four cultivars were found to succumb to Fusarium disease. Vegetative Compatibility Group (VCG) of Philippine FOC isolates are as follows: Latundan VCG 0123; Cavendish VCG 0122 and Cardaba-VCG 0126. One Latundan isolate was identified to belong to VCG 0126
