Application of pre-emergence herbicides in spring soybean

Weed control treatments were found significantly effective on weed density/biomass and seed yield. The weedy check plots offered the lowest yield (1374 kg ha-1) and was 37.6 per cent less than the weed free treatment. Hand weeding caused to a significantly higher yield than weedy check but lower than herbicide treatments. Pendimethalin gave significantly 19.3 per cent higher yield (1639 kg ha-1) and its yield was also higher than other treatments. Pendimethalin was also found more effective in controlling weeds in spring soybean.
