An experiment in a split plot design with two replications having a net plot size of 6 x 3 m (18m2) with Genotype as 1st split and row spacing as 2nd split to evaluate the performance of six genotypes (R-5, R-9, Bubakai, Sindh Achho, R-6, and R-Swabi) under two row spacings (60 and 75 cm) was conducted during the year 1992-93 at the research fields of National Oilseeds Development Project ARI, Tandojam, Sindh, Pakistan. The results depicted a significant influence on the growth and productivity parameters of tobacco genotypes under two row spacings. Maximum Plant height (50.50cm), and number of leaves /plant (11.50) were noted in Bubakai genotype when planted under 75-60cm apart rows respectively. The minimum days 63.00 and 68.17 for flowering, 123.75 and 130.58 days for maturity were under Bubakai and R-Swabi under 60cm apart rows respectively. The maximum cured leaves 993.05, 851.06 and 1027.77 kg/ha individually were yielded by R-5 genotype 75 cm apart rows and in their interactions respectively, followed by genotypes R-Swabi which recorded 888.88 kg cured leaves/ha under both the row spacing interaction.
