The current study was conducted to determine the amount of selenium in vegetables. Using atomic absorption spectrophotometer in the condition specified for selenium metal carried out the measurements of absorption values for detection of selenium. Selenium content in spinach was 5.1 microgram/10 ml where as in spearmint it was 0.11 microgram/10 ml . Although the selenium content in spinach was found to be higher as compared to other vegetables yet still it is insufficient to fulfill our body requirement.
