Evaluation of Leukomycin A in CRD prevention on broilers

The experiment was performed on 2 broiler farms, marked K and T, where increased losses caused by CRD were observed. The efficacy of Leukomycin A was compared with Enrobioflox. Both preparations were applied on 1-3 day and 22-24 day of rearing. The birds receiving Leukomycin A on the K farm reached a higher commercial body weight at lower feed conversion ratio and slightly higher mortality rate. The 2 groups on the T farm showed almost the same body weight, however the Leukomycin A group had a slightly better feed conversion ratio and lowered mortality rate. Leukomycin A applied in the rearing of broilers from paternal flocks, infected with Mycoplasma sp., fully protected the birds against CRD and contributed to favourable production parameters
