Biomonitoring in revitalization of the Moravka river
2000
Klivar, D. (Statni Melioracni Sprava, Brno (Czech Republic))
The Moravka river was for a long time the right-side branch of the Morava river. Due to its control the former has been recently separated, flowing independently in a channel (through the forest located near Nedakonice to Uhersky Ostroh). Without the regular affluents from the Morava river, the Moravka stream started to be very strongly fouled by warp and at present, a bigger part of this river is fouled. A survey of hydrobionts living in the Moravka river has been done and the following kinds of organisms were found to occur there: Electragena affinis, Asellus aquaticus, Tubifex tubifex, Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri, Chironomus thummi, Lymnaea stagnalis, Bythinia tentaculata, Galba truncatula, Planorbarius comeus and the like. Based on the results obtained, the next plans of revitalization have been recommended. The Moravka river must be cleaned from warp up
