Epidemiology of bovine leukosis in dairy cattle

Preliminary study of Bovine Leukosis in dairy cows by collecting blood samples from Amphur Kamphangsaen, Amphur Meung, Nakorn Pathom province, Amphur Banpong, Ratchaburi province and Amphur Meung, Ubolratchathanee province was performed in 1995. Total blood samples, 789, were tested by Immunodot Blotting Assay. One hundred and seventy five (22.17 percent) positive samples were detected only in 2 to 10 year-old cows. Only 3 cows from these positive cows showed clinical signs. Form odds ratio, it was found that the cows age5 years were 0.82 times less likely to have the disease than the cows age
