The effect of soil applied organic and inorganic iron forms on the recovery of iron cholorosis at apple orchards and their residual effect

0, 250, 500, 750 g/tree Sequesterene (NaFeEDDHA) and 0, 250, 500, 750 g/tree ironsulphate is applied to 16 year old apple trees (Starking) in order to find the effect of soil applied organic and inorganic iron forms in the recovery of iron chlorosis and the duration of recovery. Ironsulphate applied at the rate of 0, 250, 500, 750 g/tree were not successful in the recovery of chlorosis in the first application year. The total amount applied were increased to 2000 g/tree in the second year but still not successful in the recovery of cholorosis. Because no recovery was possible by ironsulphate application, no residual effect was also detected. Partial recovery was possible by 250 g/tree Sequesterene application. Total recovery was only possible after repetation of the same amount in the second year. Immediate recovery was obtained after 500 or 750 g/tree application of Sequesterene in the first year. Recovery lasted for three years, including the year of application. Chlorosis has started to be seen in the forth year. Sequesterene must be applied to apple trees every three or four year according to its economy
