We studied the effect of corn seed inoculation with phosphatase-producing bacteria on phosphatase activity, C and P biomass in corn rhizosphere. Corn seed was inoculated with the phosphatase-producing bacteria Bacillus 26 (B-26), Bacillus 9 (B-9), Bacillus 54 (B-54), Micrococcus 42 (M-42), Enterobacter 34 (E-34), Serratia 38 (S-38), Serratia 52 (S-52), Pseudomonas 39 (P-39) and Flavobacterium 49 (F-49). Inoculation significantly increased plant height, dry matter mass and total phosphorus per plant, and it decreased the ratio above-ground part vs. root. Inoculation increased the activity of alkaline phosphatase, C and P biomass and total bacteria (except for the strains F-49 and B-26).
