Agronomical efficiency of magnesium-containing fertilizers in potato fertilizing

A fielD fertilizing trial has been set with Kalina potato cultivar on brown forest soil of low supply of labile magnesium. Four magnesium-containing fertilizers obtained from nitric-acid added magnesite decomposition: 1) K-Mg fertilizer, K as KCy-K2O-33.2%, MgO-16.93%; 2) K-Mg fertilizer, K as KCy-K2O-42.02%; MgO-19.5%; 3) K-Mg fertilizer, K as K2SO4-K2O-34.02%; MgO-17.7%; 4) N-KMg fertilizer, K as K2SO4, N-15.98%, K2O-16.11%, MgO-14.57%. Magnesium availability in fertilizer composition has a positive effect on the yields and quality of potatoes-produce of higher percentage of large tubers, is obtained, as well as increased dry matter content and reduced percentage of tuber-contained reduced sugars.
